The Divisions National Prescribing Service Program promotes Quality Use of Medicines by providing individual educational visits to GPs on specific therapeutic topics and also group educational sessions to GPs, Pharmacists and the Community.
The National Prescribing Service (NPS) develops independent, current, evidence-based information which is consistent with nationally recognized guidelines, services and resources.
GPs who have an educational visit from the NPS program officer will receive RACGP points. The educational visits are also counted towards the Practice Incentive Program (PIP) payment along with Clinical Audits and Case Studies.
